Sunday is the firstSunday of Advent, when we begin to think about being awake for Christ’s next coming. Instead of becoming preoccupied with the end times, we are counseled to live our lives in a state of preparedness—trusting that our home is God's home and that God is coming once again to dwell with us. Mission Sunday, December 14:Our goal again this month for Manna Food Pantry is 500 pounds. They especially need: rice, canned meats, breakfast foods and dried beans. We also are collecting gently used winter coats. Please put them in the same area in the designated box.
Through December 21: Tree of Warmth There is a Tree of Warmth in the Narthex. Underwear, socks, gloves, and caps may not seem the ideal Christmas gifts, but ordinary items are often the best gifts a person receives. By taking one of the decorations off the "Tree of Warmth" in our gathering space and filling its wish list, you will be helping someone stay clean and warm this season. There are many in our community for whom these items will be most welcome and greatly appreciated.
St. Paul Lutheran Church (ELCA) has been serving the Pensacola, Florida area since 1956. We are a diverse congregation comprised of local residents, active and retired military personnel, and permanent and seasonal residents from all other parts of the country. Through a wide variety of activities and ministries for the members of our congregation, we offer many opportunities for worship, fellowship and service to our community.
